Sea Star Wasting Syndrome UPDATE!

We have the newest information! Why are sea stars growing sores, losing their arms, and dying within a few days? Over the last couple of years, sea stars along much of the Pacific coast of North America have been experiencing a mass mortality event called sea star wasting syndrome. We talk to Dr. Peter Raimondi of the University of California, Santa Cruz for the latest news about the coast-wide effort to track the extent and cause of the syndrome.
