O’Neill Sea Odyssey – Building Ocean Leaders of Tomorrow

O’Neill Sea Odyssey was founded in 1996 by wetsuit innovator and surfer Jack O’Neill. A living classroom was created on board a 65-foot catamaran sailing the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Fourth through sixth grade students from schools throughout Central California receive hands-on lessons about the marine habitat and the importance of the relationship between the living sea and the environment. We talk with Dan Haifley, Executive Director of O’Neill Sea Odyssey, about this ocean-based learning experience that lasts a lifetime.

Everyday Action: Take a kid to the ocean! Visit an aquarium! Watch an ocean video! Give ocean inspiration to a leader of tomorrow.
