Exploring Sea Caves in the “Galapagos of the North”

Happy World Ocean Day! What better time to celebrate the ocean world right off our shores? Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and National Park are called the “Galapagos of the North” for the untamed beauty, variety of wildlife and unique adventures you can experience just miles from bustling civilization. We talk with Garrett Kababik of Channel Islands Outfitters, who tells us about the islands’ special features, including vast mystical sea caves, where visitors can snorkel, dive, or kayak. Learn how you can explore this underwater treasure and what you can do to help preserve its wild beauty.

Everyday Action: When you enjoy on-the-water recreation, make sure to take out what you brought in and clean up trash. Leave it better than when you arrived.
